Welcome to the new LAB website! We wish you a pleasant experience and would like to bring a few very important details to your attention.
This website is a gift from our friends at Satchel. In creating it, our goal was to harmoniously blend LAB’s visual identity, aesthetics, usability, and accessibility. We are idealists and truly believe that accessibility can be stylish.
Accessibility
This is a topic we care deeply about—perhaps even more than you might imagine, because we want to set a good example. While this site is already more accessible than most, we continue to find areas where we can make it more convenient, intuitive, and clear. We are constantly testing and making adjustments.
We are aware of the following issues:
- PDF Documents: The documents at the bottom of the page (mostly official PDF files that we cannot currently replace with live text) are inconvenient or inaccessible for screen reader users.
- Legacy Content: Studies and methodologies prepared in previous years are only partially accessible.
- Formatting: Headings, lists, and links are not neatly structured throughout the entire site.
- Focus & Cursor Behavior: The cursor sometimes strays from where it should be (this may be particularly noticeable in the “Services” section).
- General Glitches: As you navigate around, you may encounter other minor errors, bugs, or inconveniences.
Some of these issues we will fix ourselves, while others will be resolved by our developers.
Our Request: If you spot any accessibility gaps—especially those not mentioned above—please email us at komunikacija@labiblioteka.lt. Accessibility matters to us.
Special Thanks to Satchel!
Without Satchel, who created this website for us pro bono (free of charge), having a stylish and accessible online home would have remained just a dream for a long time.
“Unbelievable achievements are Satchel’s everyday reality”—this is how the company, founded in 2018, introduces itself to users. And we can’t help but agree.
Satchel’s developers never disappointed us, never gave up, never backed down, and never once said “how much more do you want?” or “we’ve reworked this element twenty times already.” The Satchel team helped us discover creative visual solutions and structure our information conveniently. They weren’t intimidated by accessibility requirements; instead, they patiently and systematically learned every nuance.
Satchel’s team is multinational, so while our working language was English, the resulting website was born in Lithuanian! We worked together on this project for over a year.
Satchel is one of the fastest-growing financial service providers in Europe. If you ever need their services, we wholeheartedly recommend them as the most reliable partner you could ask for.
