A couple of years ago, we introduced the ability to connect to the ELVIS library using the “Victor Reader Stream” player, and today we have another update—we’ve developed an ELVIS interface for the “Evo S10 DAISY” player!
This device runs on the Android operating system. Compared to the Victor Reader, the Evo S10 is significantly faster both when navigating and when downloading publications from the ELVIS library.
The ELVIS and “Evo S10 DAISY” interface has the same features as the interface integrated into the “Victor Reader” player:
- Latest MP3 (audio) publications. This menu item allows you to filter the 30 most recent publications added to the virtual ELVIS library.
- Search for MP3 (audio) publications. This item is divided into three menu options that perform searches based on different criteria:
- “Search by Title” – filters releases based on the title or part of the title entered by the user;
- “Search by Author” – filters releases based on the author’s first name, last name, or part thereof entered by the user;
- “Search by Narrator” – filters publications based on the first name, last name, or part thereof entered by the user.
- Browsing the MP3 catalog by page. When you enter the page number in the designated field, you will be shown the 30 items listed on the selected page of the ELVIS catalog. This allows you to easily browse the entire ELVIS collection.
- Returning borrowed items. Users are limited to downloading 40 publications, but returning a publication automatically frees up space for a new book. It’s important to note that you can only download publications to the internal memory of the “Evo S10 DAISY” player, not to a memory card.
- Downloading Publications. To download more than one publication at a time, simply add all selected publications to the download queue, and the “Evo S10 DAISY” player will download them sequentially to the device’s memory. You can always track the download progress and see what percentage of the title has already been downloaded and how many titles are still waiting in the queue.
If a title does not appear in the list of downloaded titles after downloading it, restart the player—the memory will refresh and the book will appear in the list.
- Listening to Publications. In this interface, you can listen only to downloaded publications. Once you have downloaded the desired publication, you can listen to it in the same way as if it had been downloaded from the ELVIS website and transferred via a USB connection or memory card. This means that the familiar functions—play, pause, resume, skip, and others—work the same way.
Where do you start to use the ELVIS interface on the “Evo S10 DAISY” player?
- Log in to ELVIS using a computer or tablet: https://elvislab.lt/login
- Click the “My Profile” button.
- Click the “My Player” link.
- On the screen, you’ll see the login details for ELVIS via the “Evo S10 DAISY” player—your email address and password.
Do not close the browser window—you’ll still need it!
If you plan to enter your email address and password into the player manually, do not click the link that generates the player’s login credentials, as the password it generates will differ from the one displayed on the screen.
To import the login credentials, click the link “Download Evo DAISY Player Login Credentials.” Once you’ve done this, you’ll download an XML file that you’ll need to upload to the “Evo DAISY” player.
- Turn on the player.
- Connect the “Evo DAISY” player to your computer using a USB cable.
- Open the root directory of the “Evo DAISY” player (not the memory card).
- Locate and open the “DODP” folder.
- In the “DODP” folder, create a new folder (you can use the keyboard shortcut CTRL + SHIFT + N) and name it whatever you like, for example, “vardenis.” You can also use your own name or a nickname. We recommend not using Lithuanian characters.
- Open the newly created folder and upload the file you downloaded from ELVIS to it. Do not rename the file.
- Disconnect the USB cable.
- Connect the player to the internet via Wi-Fi.
- Find the “DODP” app in the menu and open it.
- If the player displays “No users,” it means something went wrong. If everything went well, select “ELVIS” and the player will connect to our library.
